“Art is a step in the known toward the unknown”

I am on a never-ending journey to find new ways to innovate and add extra depth to my work.

Radisha James, known artistically as JAE, is a Bronx, New York native, Central Florida based visual artist whose work pulses with emotion, storytelling, and cultural power. A self-taught creative soul, JAE has been an artist since her earliest years. Exploring different forms and styles of art to discover the one that speaks to her the most.
Her practice fuses digital innovation with traditional acrylic, oil and pastel techniques, producing mixed media portraits that honor the beauty, depth, and resilience of Black identity. Each piece serves as both a celebration and a meditation on liberation, joy, memory, and emotional truth.
Through vibrant textures and bold symbolism, JAE’s art is a call to witness: to see not just the subject, but the story behind the eyes. Her work reflects a personal and collective journey of healing, resistance, and Black cultural pride, inviting viewers into sacred spaces of visibility and reflection.
Her art has been showcased at Miami Art Week, the Newark Museum of Art, MPAC and galleries throughout New York and New Jersey.
She continues to expand her creative reach, with a deep desire to share her work across new communities, spaces, and hearts. For her, art is not only expression its connection, movement, and a legacy in motion.
A celebration of Black strength & spirit
